Pastor Barker began serving the Lord as a pastor in 1983. He began his journey by starting Greenlawn
Community Church in Mount Sterling, Ohio, where he opened the doors of the church and served as pastor until 1994. In 1994, he came to BRCC where he faithfully continues to serve today. Pastor Barker received his Master's in Ministry from Trinity Thelogical Seminary in 1997. He then went on to receive a second Master's degree in Religion from Liberty Theological Seminary in 2005. In addition to the preaching, teaching, and counseling that the Pastor does at the church, he also serves as an adjunct professor at Ohio Christian University.  To say that Pastor Barker is a family man would be an understatement. Pastor Barker has 6 children, 4 sons and daughters in-law, and 6 grandchildren who all faithfully attend BRCC. This year the Pastor and his wife Sue will celebrate 30 years of  being happily married. While he has already had a very successful and blessed ministry and family life, the pastor will be the first to tell you that the work has just begun. Pastor Barker has a heart for the lost, downtrodden, and the children. His goal is to strengthen families, disciple leaders, and see the lost be reconciled to Christ. Thom is anticipating great things for the future of BRCC and invites you and your family to come share in the worship and labor of the Lord with our family here at Brown Road.
